With the generosity of selfless donors and their families, Iowa Lions Eye Bank operates around the clock—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year—to recover, evaluate, process and distribute donated corneal tissue for patients in need of sight-restoring transplants.

Iowa Lions Eye Bank also conducts groundbreaking research aimed at “perfecting the transplant” and “preventing the transplant.” These efforts not only enhance outcomes for the more than 40,000 cornea transplant recipients nationwide each year but may also pave the way for treatments that prevent the need for transplantation altogether.
