Erica Mae Reed
(March 2, 1983 – November 4, 2018)
Erica Reed was a gift to this world and her sweet spirit changed the lives of all those who loved her. Forever childlike, she adored zebras and flamingos, donuts and snow, shopping and traveling, telling jokes, and surrounding herself with those who loved her as much as she loved them. When meeting her for the first time, Erica would insist on knowing that person's favorite color, shape, animal, number, and Disney character. When posing for group photos, she brought smiles to all by innocently reaching to give bunny ears to whoever was next to her. Erica never wished she was anyone else but herself.
Although she suffered through life with a severe seizure disorder, Erica's genuine spirit was able to shine through that dark cloud. She was a 2004 North Scott High School graduate and a proud member of the Lady Scouts Troop 5005 in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Even in death, Erica continued to change lives by becoming an organ donor at University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics; her family knew that Erica would want to give of herself to others. Four lives were saved by Erica's extraordinary gifts to strangers-who would have become her best
friends, if given the opportunity.
